She has contributed her expertise and professionalism to the medical community by serving as a chairperson in the Department of Anesthesiology at the Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center in Chicago for 15 years.
Dr. Kim is passionate about making people feel the best they can on the outside and inside. Through combining her vast medical knowledge and innovative aesthetic expertise she creates a customized and methodical approach to address the unique challenges of aging. Dr. Kim aims to utilize the most natural and non-invasive treatment techniques available, which work to provide positive aesthetic refinements and visible improvements to the face and body.
Research and continued education are a top priority to Dr. Kim. She aims to remain at the forefront of aesthetic medicine so that she can continue to provide her patients with the latest innovations and cutting edge technologies in the field of anti-aging and wellness.
A focus at BU Wellness & Med Spa will be to provide natural enhancements using injectable dermal fillers as well as Neurotoxins such as Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport. With years of hands on experience, Dr. Kim has seen excellent results in administering these treatments alone as well as combined. These treatments have successfully worked to prevent and correct the effects of aging on the face as well as sculpt and enhance various areas throughout the face.
Dr. Kim is also an experienced provider of Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) for skin rejuvenation, specifically in the tear trough area, an area which is commonly difficult to successfully treat. PRP for aesthetic therapy is used to promote collagen synthesis within the skin and has shown great success in hair regrowth through micro-needling treatments.
Christina E. Kim, MD
Dr. An is a board certified Anesthesiologist, specialized in the field of Regenerative medicine and Interventional pain management.
With over 35 years of hands on medical experience, Dr. An has dedicated the past few years of his practice managing a Chicago Hospital Pain Clinic, affording him the opportunity to extend his warm and compassionate care and extensive knowledge to a broad range of patients.
His vast experience with in-office pain treatments has made him an expert in administering nerve blocks and joint injections throughout various parts of the body (shoulder, knee, hip, ankles, cervical and lumbar spine, and sacroiliac joint) where pain commonly develops.
His current focus centers around educating his patients and peers about new and innovative therapies in the field of pain management. With on-going research and hands-on experience, Dr. An has become a trusted expert and provider of Prolotherapy and PRP (platelet rich plasma).
He has been on the forefront of utilizing PRP as a tool for pain management because of it’s regenerative capabilities that work to heal and repair the direct source of the pain within the body. Out-dated modalities like steroid injections and prescription pain medication are more commonly utilized by un-specialized physicians treating patients with chronic pain. These treatments are examples of degenerative medicine that will only provide short term relief through masking the symptoms of chronic pain.
Dr. An has observed continued success in the treatment of his patients with Prolotherappy and PRP, and has approved the following conditions for the consideration of PRP treatment:
Achilles tendinitis, Ankle sprain , Arthritis, Chronic back pain, Carpal tunnel syndrome, Coccyx pain, Degenerative joint disease, Golfer’s and tennis elbow, Plantar fasciitis, Hip pain, Knee injuries and pain, Knee meniscus tears, Rotator cuff tears, Sacroiliac joint sprain and laxity.
